Macedon Ranges

The Macedon Ranges is one of Australia’s coolest wine regions producing many outstanding, awards –winning wines. In the coldest parts, close to Mt Macedon itself, sparkling wines, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer are the specialties – whilst further north around Kyneton, Metcalfe and Baynton, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz find a natural home.

Sunbury

Sunbury is known as Melbourne’s rural village.  This is a very unique place to visit, with award-winning wines and local food, historic bluestone architecture, flora and fauna and so much more.

The Sunbury Wine Region has been producing cool climate wines since the 1860’s and is well regarded for its award winning Shiraz.  Many of the region’s boutique wineries have a cellar door open for tastings and sales and some have cafes and restaurants open for lunch and dinner. There are many wineries to be discovered in and around Sunbury and some still feature the original bluestone homesteads and wineries.

The region hosts a number of events throughout the year including the Sunbury Region Wine Weekend on the last weekend of August.  If you want to dine at a winery some of the unique choices include Wildwood Cafe at Wildwood Vineyard, Estelle’s at Andraos Bros and Goona Warra Vineyard.

To feast on some history during lunch dine at the gatehouse at Rupertswood Mansion or enjoy a warm comforting atmosphere at Avanti at Witchmount Estate Rockbank only 30 minutes from Melbourne CBD

Mornington Peninsula

Bellarine Peninsula
